The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Rose Ruppert and Hanna Gough are conducting this unannounced visit to complete the required annual inspection. LPAs arrived at the facility was greeted and granted entry by staff. LPAs met with Andrew Crawford, Program Director, and explained the nature of the visit.

The Facility is a four bedroom, three bathroom, single story home with an office, living room, dining room, kitchen and therapy room. The garage is attached with the entrance being inaccessible to clients. Four clients currently reside at this location, all clients were present at the time of the visit. LPAs accompanied by Program Director began the tour of the inside and outside of the facility. LPAs observed required department postings throughout the facility. Facility stays within the capacity limitations. LPAs toured the kitchen and food storage areas. There is a minimum of seven days of non-perishables foods and two days of perishable foods readily available with an emergency food and water supply stored in the supply closet. There is additional food stored in the garage refrigerator with all temperatures between regulatory degrees. LPAs inspected that medications are centrally stored in the medication office behind a locked door. LPAs reviewed medications and observed medications were labeled and stored inaccessible to clients in the locked med room in a locked med cart. LPAs measured the hot water temperature which measured between 113.0 and 113.5 degrees Fahrenheit. All bathrooms observed to have a supply of soap, toilet paper and paper towels. The facility is equipped with extra hand hygiene, cleaning, and disinfecting supplies that are locked in a closet at the main entry of the facility. LPAs observed that toxic chemicals, cleaning solutions and disinfectants are stored in the garage and inaccessible to clients.
