A review of the resident's physician's report was done. There were two and both stated the resident may leave the facility unassisted. Per interviews the resident did leave the facility at any time day or night. The facility staff are not allowed to restrain or prevent a resident from leaving the facility. The one incident in question the resident had a fall while out of the facility during the evening hours and brought back by good samaritans. The resident did not suffer any ill effects.
Based on the evidence gathered, the Department finds that the allegation is unfounded. A finding that the complaint is unfounded means that the allegation is false, could not have happened, and/or is without a reasonable basis.
