COMPLAINT CONTROL NUMBER: 22-AS-20250219151509

Staff does not ensure facility has hot water

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kimberly Lyman conducted an unannounced complaint visit to initiate an investigation into the above allegation. LPA was greeted and granted entry into the facility and explained the reason for the visit.

During the course of the investigation, LPA toured the facility, tested water temperature and interviewed staff and residents. Regarding the allegation that staff does not ensure facility has hot water, the investigation revealed the following: Resident 1 (R1) stated not having hot water in the shower for a very long time. Administrator indicates bringing a plumber in to address the issue as soon as it was reported and the plumber was at the facility working on it last week. Administrator offered the resident the opportunity to move while the water temperature was being addressed but the resident declined. Water temperature in the shower and sink measured at 98.2 degrees F during today's visit. Based on interviews conducted and observation, the preponderance of evidence standard has been met. Therefore the above allegation is found to be SUBSTANTIATED. California Code of Regulations, (Title 22, Division 6, Chapter 8), are being cited on the attached LIC 9099D. An exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report was provided to facility administrator along with appeal rights.
