The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Hanna Gough made an unannounced visit to the facility to conduct the required annual inspection. LPA was greeted and granted entry by staff. LPA met with Administrator (AD) Dulce Argosino and discussed the purpose of the visit. The facility has six residents in care.

The facility is a one-story home with five resident bedrooms, one staff room, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room and attached 2 car garage. The facility appears clean, safe and sanitary. LPA and AD toured the facility and observed the kitchen to be clean and free of vermin. LPA observed a two day perishable and seven day non perishable food supply on hand. LPA observed the knives to be in a locked cabinet by the kitchen sink. AD tested the appliances and they were found to be operational. LPA observed the staff room to be located by the kitchen and did not have any items that should be unaccessible to residents. LPA observed the fire extinguisher in the dining room to be charged and with a service date of February 6, 2026. All resident bedrooms had the required components and furnishings. LPA observed a supply of clean linens in the hall cupboards. LPA observed the bathrooms to have toilet paper and non slip mats in the shower. The water was tested to be between 109 and 112.2 degrees Fahrenheit. LPA observed the centrally stored medication to be in a locked cabinet located in the living room and made inaccessible. LPA observed the first aid kit to be complete with all the required components. LPA observed the garage to have extra fridge and freezers for facility food. LPA observed more pantry items to be stored in the garage cabinets for resident use. LPA observed the toxins and chemicals to be in a locked cabinet in the garage and made inaccessible. LPA observed the emergency food and water to be stored in the garage. The backyard had no debris or obstructions and had a shaded seating area. AD tested the carbon monoxide detectors and they were found to be operational.
