The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jerome Haley arrived at the facility for the purpose of conducting the required Annual Inspection. LPA Haley was greeted, granted entry, and explained the reason for the visit.

The facility is a one level structure with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Client bedrooms have the necessary elements including nightstands, lamps, storage space, beds and appropriate linens. Client bathrooms have grab bars, nonskid mats, toilets, and wash basins.

The facility was licensed March of 2024 and has not received its first client yet. However, licensing fees are current, and the facility has a current liability insurance policy in place. Further, the licensee has kept the facility clean and organized as it was in during the pre-licensing inspection process.

The kitchen was clean and organized. All burners on the gas stove were operational. Knives are being stored in a locked cabinet under the sink. There’s a fire extinguisher mounted on the wall in the living room, and the fireplace was covered by a screen.

There’s an office area in the facility with locked filing cabinets for client and staff files. A first aid kit with all the required elements was observed. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors tested operational.

The exterior portion of the facility was clean and organized. Walkways were free of obstruction.

No deficiencies are being cited, and no advisories will be issued as a result of today’s visit. An exit interview was conducted, and a copy of this report was provided.
