The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Hanna Gough and Nancy Guillen made an unannounced visit to the facility to conduct the required annual inspection. LPAs were greeted and granted entry by staff. LPAs met with Administrator(AD) Chris Singleton and discussed the purpose of the visit. The facility currently has six clients in care.

The facility is a one story home with three client bedrooms, one staff bedroom, two bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, dining room, laundry room and detached two car garage. Facility appears clean, safe, and sanitary. LPAs observed the kitchen to be free of debris and vermin. LPAs observed the knives to be locked in a cabinet located under the kitchen sink in a locked box and made inaccessible to clients in care. LPAs observed a two day perishable and seven day non-perishable food supply on hand. LPAs observed a fire extinguisher in the kitchen charged and with a service date of May 21, 2025. All appliances were found to be operational. LPAs observed toxins to be locked under the sink and in a cabinet in the backyard making them inaccessible to clients in care. Client bedrooms had all the required components and furnishings. LPAs observed bathrooms to have soap, toilet paper, hand drying machines, and textured flooring in the showers. LPAs measured hot water in client bathrooms to be between 110.4 and 113.5 degrees Fahrenheit. LPAs observed the centrally stored medication to be locked in a cabinet located in the living room and made inaccessible to clients in care. LPAs observed the staff bedroom to be locked and made inaccessible to clients in care. LPAs observed the garage to be locked making it inaccessible to clients in care. LPAs observed the emergency food and water supply to be located in the garage. LPAs observed extra food storage located in the garage. LPAs observed the backyard to be free of debris and obstructions. LPAs observed a shaded seating area for client use in the backyard. AD tested the carbon monoxide and smoke detectors and they were found to be operational. Continue on 809C
