The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jerome Haley arrived to conduct a required one-year annual visit. LPA Haley explained the reason for the visit with staff upon entry.

Structure : The facility is one level structure with an open classroom setting with a large main activity area where most of the activities are held. The program is also available via zoom for participants who can’t attend the class for whatever reason. The program operates Monday - Fridays from 7:30am – 2:00pm with zoom class available from 8:00am – 11:00am and 12:00 – 3:00pm.

Bathrooms : There are 12 bathrooms for program participants. Bathroom #9 has a shower used for emergencies only. Hot water was measured in the range of 106.5 – 109.7 degrees F. There’s 12 bathroom areas for participants. All 12 bathrooms areas were clean and had a working toilet, faucet, and wash basin for the participants.

Kitchen/Food Service: Participants bring their own lunch to the program. The program provides light snacks for participants. In a locked room in the kitchen, LPA observed sharps in a plastic container, a non-perishable food supply, and various other facility supplies. Lunch is one hour every day and runs from 11:00am – 12:00pm. All appliances were clean and in good working order. LPA observed clients and staff using the microwaves, and multiple refrigerators available. A small laundry area was observed in between the kitchen area and the main activity area. 1 washer, 1 dryer, and 1 stove.

Hygiene Supplies : The facility has an adequate supply of hygiene items on hand. Hygiene items were observed in a locked cabinet.
