The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samer Haddadin conducted this unannounced visit for the purpose of completing an annual required inspection. LPA met with Care Staff (CF) Surio Filomena and discussed the purpose of the inspection. The facility is a one-story residence featuring four bedrooms, a living room and family room each with a screened fireplace, an eat-in kitchen, two bathrooms, and a detached two-car garage used for storage. All four residents were present at the facility at the time of the visit. LPA toured the interior and exterior facility and observed required department postings displayed throughout. There is a minimum of seven days of non-perishable foods and two days of perishable foods available. LPA reviewed medication and observed that it was labeled and stored inaccessible to residents in care. LPA measured the hot water temperature at 108.6 Fahrenheit degrees. All bathrooms were observed to have a supply of soap, toilet paper, and towels. LPA also observed that all rooms have furniture in good repair, clean linens, and adequate storage space, and are kept free of tripping hazards. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and auditory exit alarms were tested and found operational. Fire extinguishers are mounted in the kitchen and garage areas with a last inspection date of March 11, 2025. Upon review of records, the emergency drill log indicated that the last drill was conducted on December 8, 2025. LPA toured the exterior of the facility and observed a shaded seating area for residents’ enjoyment. LPA checked emergency exits and found them to be free of obstacles. LPA reviewed two residents’ and two staff files and observed they all contained the required documentation. Based on the observations made during today’s inspection, no deficiencies are being cited. An exit interview was conducted, and a copy of this report was provided to Care Staff (CF) Surio Filomena.
