The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samer Haddadin conducted an unannounced visit to the facility to complete the required annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPA Haddadin was greeted by Administrator (AD) Louise Igisaiar, who granted access, and the purpose of the visit was explained. The facility is a one-story home consisting of seven bedrooms and two restrooms. Five of the bedrooms are designated for clients, with one currently vacant. The facility also includes a living room, dining room, kitchen, and an attached two-car garage. At the time of the visit, five clients were in care. All bathrooms were observed to be clean, free of debris, and without mildew. Faucets and toilets were in proper working condition. Hot water temperature measured 115.6 degrees Fahrenheit, which is within regulatory requirements. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors were observed in all client bedrooms and common areas. Each device was tested and confirmed operational. The facility maintained an adequate supply of bath towels and personal hygiene items. Common areas were clean, free of hazards, and all passageways and doorways remained unobstructed. The facility’s first aid kit was fully stocked with the required items. All kitchen appliances were in good working order. The food supply was sufficient and met regulatory requirements of maintaining at least a two-day supply of perishable items and a seven-day supply of non-perishable goods. Knives and sharps were secured in a locked kitchen cabinet and were inaccessible to clients. All chemicals and cleaning supplies were locked in a cabinet located in the garage. A review of two client files and two staff files was conducted, and each contained the required documentation. A review of Personal and Incidental (P&I) records confirmed that the facility maintains accurate logs and balances.
