The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jerome Haley conducted an unannounced visit for the purpose of conducting a required one year annual Inspection. LPA Haley entered the day program and was greeted by staff and explained the reason for the visit.

The program has a capacity of 40 and operates Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. During the annual inspection 23 participants were present. The program has an open classroom style setting with a large activity room. In the large activity room, LPA observed tables and chairs for the participants and plenty of arts, crafts, and activities available for the participants.

In the men’s and women's bathroom, hot water was measured at 105. 1 degrees F. LPA observed 1 toilet, 1 urinal, and 1 sink. In the women’s bathroom area, LPA observed 2 toilets, and 2 sinks. There’s an additional restroom down the hall with 3 toilets for the men and 3 toilets for the women with a large commercial style sink with three faucets that separates the men’s and women’s side of the restroom.

The program has a kitchen area with a refrigerator, sink, stove, and a laundry area. However, the kitchen and laundry areas are on the second floor of the facility, which is off limits to participants.

All cleaning chemicals are stored in a locked storage room across the hall from the main office.

The exterior portion of the program, was clean with clear walkways free of obstruction, lots of grassy areas and plenty of space is available. The facility has a brand new gazebo to provide a shaded area for participants.
