Facility Evaluation Report
Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samer Haddadin conducted an unannounced inspection at Janeen Home (an Adult Residential Facility for Persons with Special Health Care Needs - ARFPSHN) to fulfill the required annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPA Haddadin was greeted by Administrator (AD) Jessica Garcia, who granted entry to the facility, and the purpose of the visit was explained.
The facility is a one-story home comprising five bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, a lounge, a backyard, and an attached two-car garage. During the inspection, LPA Haddadin observed residents participating in day program activities within the facility. Each resident was accompanied by a one-on-one staff member from Assisted Integration Services (AIS) to facilitate their engagement in these activities.
The facility appeared thoroughly clean, sanitary, organized, comfortable, and accommodating for all residents. Each resident's room contained the required elements, including a bed, a chair, closet space, and ample lighting. The restrooms were stocked with soap and paper towels and displayed handwashing instructions. The hot water temperature measured 109.9 degrees Fahrenheit in the bathroom located directly across from the kitchen and 110.9 degrees Fahrenheit in the bathroom situated down the hall from the lounge room.
LPA Haddadin noted that the facility maintained an emergency supply of food, water, and oxygen stored in the garage. The fire extinguishers were fully charged, as indicated by the arrow positioned within the green section of the meter. The extinguishers had been last serviced on December 4, 2024. The facility had two sharps containers available for the proper disposal of sharps. Medication for each resident was securely stored in locked drawers within their respective rooms. The top two drawers of the dresser in each resident's room were specifically designated for their medication, and access was restricted to nurses only.
