The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samer Haddadin conducted an unannounced visit today for a required one-year inspection. Upon arrival, LPA Haddadin explained the purpose of the visit and was greeted and granted entry by Administrator Alex Silva. The facility is a one-story residence featuring four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It maintains an approved fire clearance for six non-ambulatory residents, which includes provisions for one bedridden resident and a hospice waiver for six individuals. At the time of the inspection, six residents were in care.

During the tour of the premises, LPA reviewed the storage of medications and confirmed they were properly labeled and maintained in a manner inaccessible to residents. A measurement of the hot water temperature in the bathrooms recorded 118.6 degrees Fahrenheit. All restrooms were equipped with a sufficient supply of soap, toilet paper, and towels. LPA verified that all required department postings are displayed on the facility walls and confirmed the facility remains within its licensed capacity.

Food supplies were inspected, revealing a minimum of one week of non-perishable food and two days of perishable food available, with additional storage located in a pantry and a spare refrigerator in the garage. Cleaning solutions, toxic chemicals, and disinfectants were found to be secured under the kitchen sink and remained inaccessible to the clients. The facility maintains a clean supply of linens, and an inspection of the client bedrooms showed sufficient lighting for safety and comfort, with all rooms containing the required components. {***CONTINUE 809C***}
