The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nancy Guillen is conducting this unannounced visit for the purpose of completing an annual required inspection. LPA was greeted and granted entry into the facility after explaining the reason for the visit. Administrator (AD) Noel Villegas assisted wi th the inspection. LPA observed Administrator certificate is current with an expiration date of June 13, 2028 . This is an Adult Residential Facility licensed for two non-ambulatory clients with four clients currently residing at the facility. LPA was notified that three clients were away at day program. LPA observed one client to be present at the facility and left for work during the visit.

LPA began the tour of the inside and outside of the facility and observed the following:

The facility is a one-story home with three client bedrooms, two client bathrooms, one staff room, kitchen, dining room, living room and backyard. LPA observed the required department postings posted on the wall in the dining room. There is a minimum of one week of non-perishables foods and two days of perishables food available. There is additional food storage in the dining room and staff room. LPA observed knives and sharps to be stored in a locked kitchen drawer. Gas stove, microwave, washer and dryer were all inspected and observed to be operable. The facility is maintained at a comfortable temperature. LPA observed that medication is centrally stored in a locked storage closet near the living room. LPA reviewed medication and observed medication was labeled and stored inaccessible to clients in care.
