The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Hanna Gough arrived at the facility to conduct the required annual inspection. LPA was greeted and granted entry by staff. LPA met with Administrator (AD) Noel Villegas and explained the purpose of the visit. The facility currently has six clients in care.

The facility is a one-story home with six client bedrooms, three bathrooms, one staff room, living room, kitchen, and detached two car garage. The facility appears clean, safe and sanitary. LPA observed the kitchen to be free of vermin. LPA observed a seven day non-perishable and two day perishable food supply on hand. LPA observed the centrally stored medication to be in a locked kitchen cabinet. LPA observed the toxins and chemicals to be in the locked laundry closet located in the kitchen. LPA observed the knives to be in a locked drawer located in the kitchen. LPA observed all client bedrooms to have the required components and furnishings. LPA observed the restrooms to have toilet paper, paper towels, and textured flooring. LPA observed the water to be at 113.9 degrees Fahrenheit in the client restroom. LPA observed the fire extinguisher to be charged and with a service date of July 11, 2024. LPA observed a letter from the Marx Brothers Fire Extinguisher Co. that the annual extinguisher inspection will be conducted by the end of the month. LPA observed the emergency food and water supply in the facility living room and garage. LPA observed the garage to have extra supply storage and locked. LPA observed the backyard to have a shaded seating area for client use. LPA observed the backyard to be free of debris and obstructions. LPA and AD tested the fire and smoke detectors and they were found to be operational.

LPA reviewed staff files and no discrepancies were observed. LPA reviewed client files and no discrepancies were observed. LPA reviewed P&I with AD and no discrepancies were observed. LPA reviewed client medication and no discrepancies were observed. LPA observed the last fire drill conducted on June 27, 2025.
