The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samer Haddadin conducted an unannounced visit to the facility to complete the required annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPA Haddadin was greeted by Administrator Joshua Quezada, who granted entry and was advised of the purpose of the visit. The facility is a one-story home with four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an attached two-car garage. It is licensed to serve four ambulatory clients. At the time of the inspection, three clients were in care; however, all were attending day program. All bathrooms were inspected and observed to be clean, free of debris, and without mildew. Faucets and toilets were in proper working condition. Hot water temperature measured 116.6 degrees Fahrenheit. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors were observed in each client bedroom and throughout common areas. All devices were tested and found to be operational. The facility maintained an adequate supply of towels and personal hygiene products. Common areas were clean, free of hazards, and all passageways and doorways were unobstructed. The first aid kit was fully stocked with the required items. Kitchen appliances were operational. The food supply met regulatory requirements, with at least a two-day supply of perishable foods and a seven-day supply of non-perishable foods. Knives, sharps, and cleaning supplies were locked in the kitchen cabinet and inaccessible to clients. A review of two client files and two staff files confirmed the presence of all required documentation. Personal and Incidental (P&I) records were reviewed and found to be accurate and in compliance with regulations.
