The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Hanna Gough arrived at the facility to conduct the required annual inspection. LPA was greeted and granted entry by staff. LPA met with Quality Assurance Manager (QA) Merlinda Maglaya and discussed the purpose of the visit. The facility currently has six clients in care of which 3 are at day program.

The facility is a one story home with seven bedrooms, four bathrooms, two living rooms, kitchen, dining room, laundry room, storage room, backyard, and attached two car garage. The facility appears clean, safe, and sanitary. LPA observed all client bedrooms had the required components and furnishings. LPA observed a clean supply of linens in the hall cupboard for client use. LPA observed the restrooms to be stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, and nonslip flooring. LPA tested the water to be at 118.5-119.7 degrees Fahrenheit. LPA observed the kitchen to be clean and free of vermin. LPA observed a two day perishable and seven day nonperishable food supply on hand. LPA observed toxins to be locked under the sink and in a locked cabinet in the laundry room. LPA observed the knives to be in a box under the locked kitchen sink and made inaccessible to clients in care. LPA observed fire extinguishers in the kitchen and throughout the facility charged and with a service date of March 10, 2025. LPA observed the centrally stored medication to be in the locked hall cabinet closest to the kitchen and made inaccessible to clients in care. LPA observed the emergency food and water supply in the locked storage room. LPA observed the garage to have extra food storage. LPA observed the backyard to have a shaded area for client use. LPA observed the backyard to be free of debris and obstructions. LPA and QA found the carbon monoxide detector and fire alarms to be operational.
