The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jerome Haley conducted an unannounced visit for the purpose of conducting a required one-year annual inspection. LPA was greeted, granted entry by staff, and explained the reason for the visit.

During the inspection, LPA Haley observed a closet right near the front door used by staff as a storage space. Resident bedrooms were clean, organized, and had the necessary elements and were in compliance with regulation guidelines. Resident bathrooms were clean and organized as well. Hot water temperatures were measured in the range of 105 – 108.7 degrees Fahrenheit. Hazardous items are kept under the sink in a locked cabinet.

The kitchen is clean and organized. A perishable and non-perishable food supply that meets regulation requirements was observed. Knives are kept in a locked drawer next to the sink. All burners and the warmer on the stove were operational. There’s a locked medication cabinet in the kitchen with staff and resident files. A first aid kit with all the required elements was observed in the cabinet.

The garage remains locked and inaccessible to residents at all times. The garage was clean and organized and walkways were free of obstruction. A refrigerator with an additional food supply was observed as well as an emergency supply of food and water. A laundry area equipped with a washer and dryer was observed.
