The inspector’s account

At approximately 9:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Magdaleno arrived unannounced to conduct a required 1-year annual inspection and met with Program Director Alex Hernandez. Facility is an Adult Day Program (ADP) with sixteen (16) clients in care. Facility is serviced by vendor North Bay Regional Center (NBRC). Facility operates Monday through Friday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. LPA reviewed the Facility's Staff Roster and found that two (2) staff were not associated to facility as per regulation (deficiency cited).

At approximately 10:05 AM, LPA initiated a tour of the facility with Program Director and observed the following: Facility consists of one (1) story, was a comfortable temperature, and passageways were free from obstructions. Facility's fire extinguisher was observed charged and last serviced 3/26. Smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors were tested and operational during inspection. Water temperatures in participant accessible sinks read between 105.2 degrees F and 111.3 degrees F which is within the allowable range of 105 to 120 degrees F per Title 22 regulations. Soap & paper towels were available in facility bathrooms. Cabinets containing cleaning supplies and other items that could pose a risk were locked. Participants bring their own lunches and those who stay at the facility during the day eat in various activity rooms. Refrigerators for participants’ lunches were clean and in good repair. Transportation is arranged by the facility, family, or a third party transport company. Facility vehicle was observed to contain a first aid kit, fire extinguisher, and service logs.

LPA observed a schedule of activities, events, learning opportunities, and outings planned, these include arts and crafts, movies, music, cooking, sports/exercise, community outings, holiday celebrations, and more.
