The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Angela Barutyan arrived at the facility unannounced to conduct a required annual inspection at 10:58AM. LPA met with staff and Administrator Hugo Olano who arrived at 11:50AM. Entrance interview conducted.

Beginning at 11AM, the LPA, along with staff toured the physical plant areas inside and outside to ensure there are no health and safety hazards and that facility is in compliance with Title 22 Regulations. The following was observed:

KITCHEN: Knives and cleaning supplies are stored locked and inaccessible in a kitchen drawer and cabinet. Kitchen appliances were in operable condition. The facility has a sufficient supply of perishable and non-perishable food. Food was stored at appropriate temperatures.

BEDROOMS: The facility consists of four (4) total bedrooms; two (2) are for single-client use, one (1) is a shared room, and one (1) is designated for staff use and is kept locked. All client rooms were observed to be furnished appropriately with clean linens, appropriate furnishings, closet space, and sufficient lighting.

RESTROOMS: There are three (3) bathrooms; one (1) is by the entry, one (1) is attached to Bedroom #1, and one (1) is for staff use only. LPA observed bathrooms to be clean, sanitary, and in operating condition with slip-resistant surfaces. Hot water temperatures were measured in bathrooms and were between 105.4-119.2 degrees F, which is within the required range.
