The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jose Tan conducted an annual required visit and inspection of the facility. LPA was greeted by staff Charity Joseph who called the Administrator and informed the reason for the visit. Administrator Laila Kulungu arrived 30 minutes later. This is a North Los Angeles County Regional Center vendored facility Level II.

At 9:35 AM, LPA conducted a physical plant tour and observed the following: Dual carbon monoxide and fire alarms were tested and observed to be operational. There were fire extinguishers located in the kitchen and bedroom hallway and was last bought on 02/25/26. The facility temperature was set at 74 °F . The facility is fire cleared for six (6) ambulatory clients.

Kitchen: The kitchen appliances and fixtures were functional. There are sufficient food for two (2) days perishable and seven (7) days non-perishable.Frozen foods are wrap, dated, and stored properly as well. Knives were stored in a locked cabinet under the sink in the kitchen. The menu was posted for review (ARF), snacks and beverages are available for the resident in the facility when they want. Food storage and preparation areas are clean and inaccessible to pests. Garbage cans have tight fitting covers. Cleaning supplies and other toxins were stored and locked under the kitchen sink.

Bedrooms: There were a total of four (4) bedrooms and three (3) bathrooms. One (1) bedroom and one (1) bathroom is designated for staff use. Bedrooms that are used by the clients were properly furnished with appropriate dresser, beddings, and linens with sufficient lighting.
