The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Glenn Trueman conducted an unannounced Required- 1 year visit. The purpose of the visit was explained to DSP Staff Patricia Mora. Administrator Mariano Prieto arrived later.The facility is licensed as level 4N Adult Residential Facility (ARF) that serves developmentally disabled residents ages 59 and under vendored by Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center.

Infection Control: The Infection Control Plan includes Environmental cleaning and disinfection activities. Facility has sufficient Personal Protective Equipment.

Physical Plant/Environment Safety: The facility is a single story home located in a residential neighborhood. There are 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, activity room, detached garage with laundry room and outside patio. All client bedrooms had the required furniture for comfort and safety and had sufficient lighting. All outdoor passages were free of obstruction. Bathrooms were clean, toilets and water faucets worked properly. Water temperature was measured throughout the client bathrooms and temperatures ranged from 105 -120 degrees F which is within the required range. Client bath towels, toiletries and personal hygiene supplies were adequately available. All storage areas for cleaning solutions, toxins, knives, and hazardous items are in locked cabinets. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors are operable and in compliance. There are 2 fully charged fire extinguishers. The facility has a 1st Aid Kit and Manual. The hallway restroom has a whole in the wall by the toilet paper dispenser.

Operational Requirements: Fire clearance is approved for four (4) non- ambulatory residents and two (2) ambulatory. Care and supervision to meet the clients needs was observed. Special equipment and supplies are used by residents. The Surety Bond expires 12/29/2027.

Staffing: A total of 12 staff members provide care and supervision to the clients.
