The inspector’s account

Administrator and seven out of seven staff interviewed stated that they have observed that the medication is being administered as prescribed. Administrator and staff interviewed stated that staff who administer medication receive medication training, and they also ensure the residents are receiving the correct medication with the facility verification procedures.

Regarding the allegation that : Staff are not reporting incidents involving resident(s) as required. The investigation consisted of interviews with Administrator, and staff #1- staff #7. Administrator and staff interviewed denied the allegation. Administrator and seven out of seven staff interviewed stated that staff take daily notes on all residents, and they indicate if any special incidents have occurred. Administrator stated that the facility reports special incidents to the appropriate agencies as required. LPA observed that a special incident that was submitted to Community Care licensing on 3/3/24.

Regarding the allegation that : Staff are not keeping accurate records of medication distribution. The investigation consisted of review of resident #1 - resident #3 medication administration record(s), and interviews with Administrator, and Staff #1 - Staff #7. LPA review of resident medication record(s) indicates that the medication records are accurate. Administrator and staff interviewed denied the allegation. Administrator and seven out of seven staff interviewed stated that staff are keeping accurate records of medication distribution.

Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED .

Exit interview was conducted with Mr. Alvarez and a copy of this report was provided.
