The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Abeye Duguma met with Program Manager, Olga L. Ruiz, for a Required One (01) Year visit. LPA explained the reason for the visit. A tour of the physical plant was conducted at 10:00 AM and the following was noted:

Facility is designed for an adult behavior day program that works with the North Los Angeles County Regional Center. Their operating hours are between 8:00am to 3:00pm. Fire clearance is approved for fifteen (15) non-ambulatory and thirty (30) ambulatory clients. The facility is currently providing services to forty-two (42) clients. There are multiple activity rooms ranging from arts and crafts to computers. The clients are provided care and supervision while at the day program. Clients activities schedule is posted along with their personal rights.

Facility has a centralized smoke and carbon monoxide system with command center. The system is designed to send an emergency signal to the local fire department and is checked annually. The facility conducts fire/emergency drills monthly. There are six (06) restrooms total for male and female clients. Restrooms observed to be clean and functional. The water temperature from kitchenette to bathroom sink ranged from 118.3-118.8°F.
