The inspector’s account

On 09/11/2025 at 08:00am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jose Calderon conducted an unannounced Annual required annual visit with Cole Vocational services San Pedro. LPA Calderon was met by Manager Tracy Thompson and the purpose of today’s visit was explained. The facility is licensed to serve 30 adults with cognitive issues 18 and older.

There are currently 30 clients in care. The facility is a 1-story commercial structure with 9 rooms and 4 bathrooms, 8 activity rooms, kitchen and work out room, 2 offices, salon, computer room. LPA Calderon and Manager Thompson toured the physical plant. There are no bodies of water or firearm/ammunition on the premises. All client rooms were checked, and are in good condition, adequate lighting provided, storage for client personal belongings was observed. Walls and floors were in good repair. All equipment, computers, and workstations are well maintained. Bathrooms were found to be within Title 22 regulations and were clean and operational. LPA Calderon observed the facility to be clean and appropriately furnished at the time of visit. Storage areas for personal hygiene, cleaning agents, toxins, and sharps were not accessible to clients. The facility’s last fire drill was conducted on 07/03/2025. Commercial General Liability Policy #3752210 policy period from 10/01/2024 to 10/01/2025 underwritten by National Union Fire Insurance Company, coverage 1,000,000/3,000,000 is valid at time of inspection. Required documents are posted in the facility in a clearly visible area to all clients and guests. LPA Calderon reviewed LIC500 and noted all staff associated with facility per LIS. Bathroom #1 hot water temperature properly measured at 107 degrees Fahrenheit, and bathroom #2 hot water temperature properly measured at 109 degrees Fahrenheit.
