The inspector’s account

Based on the LPA's investigation, the investigation revealed the following:

Allegation – Client attacked another client while in care.

Interviews with staff #1-2, all agreed that the C#1 always argues with C#2. C#1, said the incident happened in the hallway in front of C#1's room. The staff checked the cameras, it only shows that C#2 is outside C#1's room speaking with C#1's and then C#2 walks away. They are always yelling, screaming, and arguing because of jealousy. They asked C#1 if they wanted to press charges on C#2, C#1 declined to press charges. They also agreed that they refuse to stay away from each other, even though they claim they will. Interview with W#1, advised C#1 to end relationship, in order to prevent further incidents. C#1 was issued warning letter, not to continue with this type of unhealthy relationship because facility will no longer tolerate any further incidents of this kind. Interviews with C#1, assured LPA that C#2 did choke C#1, for no reason, C#2 was yelling at C#1, then put C#2’s hand on C#1 neck. C#1 decided not to press charges on C#2 because C#1 still cares about C#2. Interviews with C#2, stated that they were in some kind of debate, but they were not arguing. They were loud yelling, but C#2 never laid hands on C#1. Interviews with C#3, C#5, & C#6, agreed they are always yelling, screaming, and fighting, but they never seen C#2 put their hands-on C#1. LPA reviewed camera footage of the incident, C#2 never physically touch C#2, C#2 only appears speaking with C#1 in front of C#1 room and then C#2 walking away. Interviews and Records reviewed did not concur with the above allegation.

Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is unsubstantiated.

An exit interview was conducted with Kenneth Beck, House Manager and a hard copy was provided.
