The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Cynthia Chan conducted the annual inspection with the focus of the Infection Control domain. LPA met with Joji Jonson, Staff, and explained the purpose of the visit. The facility is licensed for 4 clients, ages 18 through 59, of which 2 may be non-ambulatory. There are currently 3 clients placed by the Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center.

LPA toured the facility and observed the following:

* The single story home has 4 client bedrooms, 1 office room, 2 bathrooms, living room, lounge area, kitchen, and attached garage. There are no pool or bodies of water at the premises. Each client has a private room.

* The facility has a PPE station right outside the door. Staff continue to screen all visitors and document on the sign-in log.

* COVID-19 signage are posted at the door and throughout the home including bathrooms.

* The house is kept clean and per staff, they clean and sanitize every 2 hours.

* Sufficient PPE supplies are kept in the office and garage, as well as cleaning/disinfectant products.

* The fire extinguishers were last inspected on 4/18/22.

* The hot water temperature was measured in bathroom #1 at 135.7 degree F and bathroom #2 at 136 degree F which is above the required range of 105 to 120 degree.

* Sufficient supplies of 2 day perishable and a week of nonperishable were observed.

* There are smoke detectors located throughout the home and one observed in each client's room. The smoke detectors and the carbon monoxide detector were tested and operable.

* Medications were reviewed for all 3 clients and no discrepancies were observed.

A deficiency is issued on the LIC9099D page. An exit interview was held. A copy of this report along with appeal rights were given to the Staff Joji.
