The inspector’s account

During interviews staff stated that they did not touch or injure the client. Staff indicated the client had a staff member on each side, talking to the client to calm the client down. Interviews with two (2) out of (2) clients indicated staff have never put a client in a hold or injured them. The clients interviewed indicated all staff treat them very well, and they have no issues with any staff members. It was found that staff have never injured, choked, hit, or put a client in a hold, therefore based on interviews the allegation, “Staff injured a client, “is deemed unsubstantiated.

Allegation: Staff inappropriately videotaped a client in the shower.

Interviews with clients indicated that staff have never treated them inappropriately. Interviews with clients indicated they shower by themselves and staff do not enter the bathroom while the client is showering. Interviews with staff indicated they help two (2) clients in the facility with administering soap to wash their hands. The staff indicated all clients shower by themselves. Interviews with staff indicated there is no official policy for cell phone usage, but they know cell phones should not be used to video or facetime the clients. Staff also indicated personal phone use is permitted when there is down time, but staff should still be supervising the clients. Staff indicated during down time they will play games on their phones or search through social media. Interviews indicated staff do not enter the bathroom with clients during their showers, therefore based on interviews the allegation, “Staff inappropriately videotaped a client in the shower,” is deemed unsubstantiated.
