dental appointments. Per Staff #1 she takes the clients to most of their appointments and will schedule transportation with Lyft if she isn't able to take them. Staff #2 and Staff #3 will occasionally pitch in and take the clients to their medical appointments. However, this complaint alleges that Staff would not take resident to the hospital. Per information provided by Staff #1, they did not refuse to take Client #2 to the hospital. Client #2 had called Staff #1 at the sister facility to ask her to take them to the hospital. Staff #1 asked Client #2 why they had to go to the hospital. Client #2 responded that they were not feeling well and was tired. Staff #1 contacted Staff #4 and asked staff to take Client #2's temperature and assess the client. Staff #1 contacted urgent care, which is also the location of Client #2's primary care doctor, around 4pm on 1/30/25 to see if the doctor could see Client #2. Staff #1 was told that Client #2's doctor left at 3pm. Staff #1 also enquired if they had an x-ray machine and was told that x-rays were only done until 4pm but they could come in since urgent care is open 24 hours a day. This information was relayed to Client #2. Once #2 knew that urgent care had an x-ray machine, they agreed to go to the doctor the following day - 1/31/25. Client #2 refused to go to urgent care on the day of the call and just wanted to go to bed. Client #2 was taken to urgent care around 12pm on 1/31/25. Chest x-rays were taken of Client #2 and an infection was detected in the lungs. Injectable Rocephin 1000mg was ordered for 3 days. Client #2 has a follow up Zoom appointment on 2/6/25 with the Pulmonologist.
Based on the information received during the investigation, there is insufficient evidence to support the allegation that Staff would not take resident to the hospital, therefore the allegation is unsubstantiated at this time.
