The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nune Margaryan conducted an unannounced annual visit using the Care Tool. LPA met with staff Assistant Administrator Fiona Mutu who assisted with the visit. Administrator arrived shortly after. Reason for the visit was explained. The facility cares for adults with developmental disabilities and is vendorized by San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center (SGPRC) and Regional Center Orange County (RCOC) The home has a fire clearance from the local Fire Department for a capacity of four (4) non-ambulatory clients ages 18 - 59 approved for delayed egress on perimeter exterior. The physical plant was inspected along with medications, food supply, and clients and staff records. This is a single-story home located in a residential neighborhood and consists of the following: 4 clients bedrooms, 2 storage room(#1 and #2), 2 clients bathroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry area, detached garage, backyard and front yard. The front and backyard are well maintained and there are no pools or large bodies of water. There is a shaded seating area for the clients located in the backyard. Passageways and exits are free of obstruction. Client bedrooms and bathroom were checked. Each bedroom is equipped with the proper furnishings. Bedrooms also have sufficient closet space. Bathrooms are clean and have the required hygiene items. The hot water temperature was tested and was measured within Title 22 Regulation guidelines. Extra linens, blankets, towels, and personal hygiene supplies were observed. The kitchen was inspected. There is sufficient perishable and non-perishable food. All the appliances are clean and working properly. All sharps are locked in the office cabinet and are inaccessible to clients. Laundry detergent, cleaning solutions/disinfectants are stored and locked in the storage room #2 and inaccessible to clients.
