The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Cynthia Chan conducted the required annual inspection. LPA arrived unannounced and met with Staff who allowed entry. The reason for the visit was explained. The house manager, Judith DeLos Reyes, arrived shortly after to assist with the visit. The facility is licensed for (4) non-ambulatory adults, ages 18 - 59, with restricted health conditions. The facility is vendorized by the Harbor Regional Center.

The facility consists of 4 client bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, and an attached garage. Each client has their own bedroom with appropriate furniture and storage space. There are extra linens and hygiene supplies. Facility has interconnected smoke detector in each room and a carbon monoxide detector located in the hallway. Knives, cleaning solutions, and disinfectants are locked. The hot water temperature was measured between the required range of 105-120 degrees F.

Staff are providing care and supervision to meet the clients' needs. Staff are continuing to follow their infection control plan and procedures while handling clients. There are sufficient food supplies of 2 day perishable and a week of non-perishable items. Per the house manager, there is sufficient staffing to assist the clients and has an awake staff for the overnight shift. LPA reviewed 3 personnel files. The Administrator's (Edith Parreno) certificate expires on 3/27/27. Staff are all fingerprint cleared and associated to the facility. Staff have current CPR & First Aid certificates and receiving appropriate training to assist clients. LPA reviewed 4 client files and medications. Clients have the restricted health plans and are given their medications as prescribed. The facility has the updated emergency and disaster plan and conducting disaster drills monthly.

No deficiencies were observed today. An exit interview was held and a copy of this report was given to the house manager.
