The inspector’s account

On 06/19/24, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Perry Scott conducted an unannounced annual required visit using the new CARE Inspection Tool. LPA met with House Manager, Oluwarotimi Johnson and explained the purpose of today’s visit. The facility is licensed to serve 4 Developmentally Disabled clients ages 18 to 59. Currently, the home has (3) clients. The clients are South Central Los Angeles Regional Center clients. None of the clients have Restricted Health Care Conditions and none are utilizing postural supports or protective devices. The facilities annual fees are current.

The facility is a two-story residential home located in a residential neighborhood. The home consists of the following: 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, family room, dining room, kitchen, living room, shaded area, indoor and outdoor activity area, laundry room and an attached garage.

LPA conducted a records review of (3) client records, (5) staff records, (3) clients Personal & Incidental Records and reviewed the facility disaster plan. All client & Staff records were complete. The facility disaster plan was current and in compliance with Title 22 at the time of visit. LPA reviewed (3) Client Medication Administration Records and did not observe any discrepancies at the time of visit. The last client does not take any medication.

LPA and Oluwarotimi Johnson toured the physical plant. There were no bodies of water or obstructions on the premises. All rooms were inspected. Beds and bedding supplies were in good condition, adequate lighting provided, storage for resident personal belongings was observed. Windows and screens were in good condition. Bed linens, comforters, and bath towels were adequately stocked at the time of visit. Bathrooms were found to be within Title 22 regulations and were clean and operational. The facility hot water temperature was within title 22 guidelines. A comfortable temperature was maintained in the facility. The last fire/emergency drill was conducted on 05/25/24.
