License Program Analyst (LPA) Luis De Leon conducted an unannounced case management visit. LPA met with Administrator Loring Magee. The purpose of today’s visit was explained.

LPA conducted a health and safety check of clients in care and conducted a physical plant tour of the facility. The LPA observed clients rooms to be clean and organized. Hallways passages were free from any obstacles. Common areas were comfortable and clean. The facility’s exterior, back and front yards were clean. There is sufficient food supply at kitchen, disinfectant and sharps were secured in closet. The LPA observed that kitchen refrigerator was not dispensing ice and water. Administrator stated that the refrigerator water dispenser broke about 3 months ago. Administrator bought the parts to fix the refrigerator, but the problem was not fixed. The facility has been providing cold water to clients by filling pitchers with drinking water and placing pitchers inside the refrigerator. The clients have also been drinking water directly from the kitchen or bathroom faucets. A deficiency is cited for the refrigerator that continues to be in disrepair.

Deficiencies are being cited per California Code of Regulations, Title 22. See LIC-809D for details. Licensing reports and appeal rights were discussed and provided. Exit interview was conducted with Administrator Loring Magee.
