The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Leslie Ngo-Castaneda conducted an annual required visit and inspection of the facility. LPA met with staff Bridgitte Djotang at 12:15 pm and was advised for the purposed of the visit, around 12:40 pm the administrator Juana Ivett Busby arrived.

At 12:45 pm, with the assistance of administrator, LPA took a tour of the physical plant. Required postings were observed in the entry area. The smoke alarms are operational and their carbon monoxide detectors that functions properly. The fire extinguisher is in the kitchen and living room with the charge date is 12/3/2023. During the visit the facility is at 72 degrees Fahrenheit. The facility is fire cleared for six (06) ambulatory.

Kitchen: The kitchen appliances and fixtures were functional. The kitchen has a working gas stove, faucet, freezer, refrigerator, and microwave. LPA found enough at least two (2) days perishable and seven (7) days non-perishable food at the facility that is properly stored. Frozen foods are wrap, dated, and stored properly as well. Food storage and preparation areas are clean and inaccessible to pests. Knives were stored in a locked cabinet in the kitchen. Properly labeled medications were locked in the kitchen cabinets. Garbage cans have tight fitting covers. Cleaning supplies, pesticides or toxic cleaning supplies were stored and locked away. LPA discussed special diets for diabetic resident.

Bedrooms: There were three (3) bedrooms designated for residents' use. Three (3) of the bedrooms are shared and is in use by residents were properly furnished with appropriate dresser, beddings, and linens with sufficient lighting. Room #1, room #2 and #3 are properly furnished and occupied by shared residents.

Bathrooms: There are two (2) bathrooms designated for residents' use. Both bathrooms were properly supplied and had functional fixtures. Bathroom #1 hot water temperature was measured at 119.9 degrees Fahrenheit and bathroom #2 measured 119.1 degrees Fahrenheit. Bathroom #1 is located in between bedroom #1 and bedroom #2. Bathroom #2 is located inside bedroom #3.
