The inspector’s account

On 05/14/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) L. Salazar arrived at the facility unannounced to conduct the annual required visit. LPA was greeted by the Administrator, stated the purpose of the visit and was allowed entry into the facility.

LPA was previously notified that the day program is expanding and an additional building has been added and completed. Facility has obtained permits and is currently working with a licensed contractor and is awaiting fire inspection for the new sprinkler system. The meeting is scheduled for 05/18/24.

The new portion of the building is unoccupied at this. Completion of the south side of the building is expected to be completed in approximately 30 days. Once the south side is completed, the second phase for the north side of the building will begin and will take approximately 30 more days. Facility will submit required documentation to request a fire clearance for the new building and capacity increase.

Facility was observed with 4 classrooms and 4 bathrooms. LPA observed there to be 10 staff members present at the facility. LPA will review records at the corporate office located at 612 Main St. Delano, CA 93215. First Aid kit observed. Last fire drill was completed 03/2024. Fire extinguishers were served 03/27/24. Water temperature measured at 108 degrees F.

LPA reviewed staff and participant files. Staff files were observed to be current. Participant files have required IPP's however, files need to be updated with current IPP's. Individuals over the age of 60 need new LIC 602a forms. Administrator will provide proof of updated LIC602's by 06/14/24.
