The inspector’s account

On 11/10/2022 at 1:20 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) L. Alexander and C. Fowler arrived unannounced to conduct Infection Control Inspection. LPAs met with Staff, Stellah Mushi and explained the purpose of the visit. Spoke with the Licensee, Goodluck Ndefungo via phone.

During the Infection Control Inspection, LPAs toured facility including but not limited to front entrance, screening station, hand washing stations, bedrooms, common areas, kitchen and backyard. Facility has a sufficient 2-day perishable and one week non-perishable food supply. There is one central entry point for universal screening for staff, residents and visitors. A sign-in policy, thermometer and hand sanitizer were observed at screening station. Cough/sneeze etiquette, social distancing and hand washing posters were observed. Facility staff were observed to be wearing proper PPE. Facility has a mitigation plan and maintains record of routine screening for residents and staff.

The following deficiencies observed during the visit:

-At 1:20 pm, LPAs observed plywood, bike,TV, shovel and a basketball base outside the driveway.

-At 1:56 pm, LPAs observed unlocked tools such as: monkey wrench, pliers, wrench in kitchen drawer..

-At 1:58 pm, LPAs observed unlocked Lysol, disinfectant spray, Grill & Oven Cleaner in kitchen cabinet.

-At 2:07 pm, LPAs observed unlocked ladder, plywood, pipes and nails in the garage

-At 2:10 pm, LPAs observed unlocked garden soil outside.

-At 2:11 pm, LPAs observed 4 missing fence planks, ladder, tire outside.
