Policy & Enforcement Bureau Chief (PEBC) Marisa Stone, Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) Wendy Scott, and Enforcement Analyst (EA) Megan Vigil of the Home Care Services Branch (HCSB) met virtually via Microsoft Teams with Licensee Louis Tapia and Designee Chris Tapia for the purpose of providing technical assistance.

Following introductions, the parties discussed the Home Care Organization's (HCO) history of compliance issues and prior deficiencies. PEBC Stone reviewed the areas of concern and offered support and guidance to assist the HCO in achieving and maintaining compliance moving forward.Chris Tapia stated that the organization had experienced staffing challenges and acknowledged concerns regarding the maintenance and organization of personnel records.

PEBC Stone advised that EA Vigil was available to provide technical assistance regarding licensing requirements, with particular emphasis on Home Care Aide (HCA) personnel files. Topics discussed included criminal background clearance and fingerprint requirements, HCA Registry requirements, training requirements, tuberculosis (TB) testing requirements, and the maintenance of complete and compliant personnel records.

Chris Tapia acknowledged the compliance issues discussed during the meeting and expressed a willingness to work collaboratively with the Department to ensure future compliance with applicable Home Care Organization licensing requirements.

Tapia stated that the organization is committed to improving its record keeping practices and maintaining compliance moving forward.
