The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brian Balisi arrived at the facility unannounced to conduct a required annual visit at 9:35am. Upon arrival LPA met with House Manager Rudi Valadez and explained the reason for the visit.

At approx. 09:50am, LPA toured the physical plant areas inside and outside to ensure there are no health and safety hazards and facility is in compliance with Title 22 Regulations. Facility is a single-story residence and consists of a total of six (6) bedrooms, four (4) rooms on the permanent side and (2) rooms on the crisis side. This home is vendored by Tri-Counties Regional Center.

The resident bedrooms were properly furnished with a bed, night stand, and sufficient lighting for each resident. The bedrooms had appropriate and adequate bedding and linens such as sheets, pillowcases, mattress pads, and blankets. LPA observed bathrooms to be clean, properly supplied and had functional fixtures. LPA observed non-skid surfaces. The hot water was measured in each bathroom between 105 - 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

The kitchen appeared to be clean and the appliances and fixtures functional during the time of visit. LPA observed a sufficient amount of perishable and non-perishable food at the facility; properly stored. Sharp objects are stored in a locked safe on the counter. No cleaning supplies were observed stored in the kitchen / dining area. There is a family room near the kitchen. LPA observed sufficient space for residents. LPA observed a 30 day emergency food supply and emergency bags stored in a cabinet in this area as well.

The facility has an in ground pool that is fully fenced that is six foot tall and a gate which is kept locked when not in use. There are two covered patios and a lounging area under a large tree. There is also a basketball court / tennis area. The exterior passageways were clean and clear of any obstructions. LPA observed appropriate furniture for outdoor use.
