The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christina Valerio arrived announced to conduct a pre-licensing inspection. LPA Valerio met with Licensee Jessica Bowen and Administrator Joshua Rivera, and explained the purpose of the visit.

The facility is licensed to serve residents 18 to 59 years of age. The facility has an approved fire clearance for ambulatory residents only. Bedrooms labeled #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7 are the only rooms to be used as client bedrooms. Room labeled #1 shall only be used by staff.

According to the licensee Bedrooms #8, #9, and #10 will be unoccupied unless the facility needs to utilize the area for isolation purposes due to an infectious disease.

Bedrooms were observed to be fully furnished and have clean linens. Bathrooms were observed to have a lidded trash can, hygiene products, hand soap, paper towels, and toilet paper. Hot water was measured between the regulatory range of 105-120.0 degrees. The facility has four common areas (living room, game room, zen room, and dinning room). All common areas were observed to be fully furnished, clean, and free from debris. LPA observed where files, medications, toxins, and sharps will be locked and inaccessible to residents in care. LPA Valerio observed where non-perishable and perishable food items will be stored. Kitchen area were observed be fully operational. The fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide detectors, fire detectors, and central heating and air condition were observed to be in working condition. The exterior area was observed to have areas for outdoor activities and place to sit. The shed is being utilized as storage. The trailer is an empty trailer and will not be used for any place of living.

Pre-Licensing is complete and this facility has no deficiencies. Component III was completed during the visit. There were no further questions. LPA to inform the CAB analyst of the inspection. An exit interview was held, and a copy of report was provided.
