The inspector’s account

On 5/10/23 at 1:30 p.m., Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Greg Clark and A. Gharachorloo arrived unannounced to conduct 1-Year Annual Required inspection. LPA met with Administrator Amelia Berumen. and explained the purpose of the visit. Day program operates from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. There were 18 staff observed working at the program today.

LPAs toured facility including but not limited to: activity rooms, kitchen, bathrooms, and the outside area. Clients bring their own lunches and snacks are provided by the program. Emergency supplies, including water were observed. The hot water temperature in the kitchen measured 119 degrees Fahrenheit. Cleaning supplies are locked and inaccessible to clients. Medications are not handled/dispensed by this program. There are no bodies of water or fire safety hazards observed. Restrooms are maintained in safe and in sanitary operating condition, and additional equipment for the physically handicapped was observed.

Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide were in operating condition during visit. Fire extinguishers throughout facility were last inspected 9/07/23. First aid kit was checked and observed to be complete.

LPAs reviewed 5 participant records and 5 staff records, and all were complete.

Updated copies of the following documents were requested for facility file and are to be submitted to CCL by 6/10/24: LIC 610D Emergency Disaster Plan

No deficiencies were cited during this inspection. Exit interview conducted and a copy of this report provided.
