The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jill Nakagawa conducted an unannounced Annual Required – 1 yr. Infection Control inspection to this facility and met with Administrator Maritza Salazar and House Manager Dedre Rodriguez. 13 clients were present at the facility.

LPA arrived at the facility and was screened for Covid-19 symptoms and logged into visitor’s binder. Temperatures are checked by staff and logged. During tour facility was found to be clean and at a comfortable temperature with all exits free from obstruction. Client’s bedrooms, common areas, kitchen & food storage areas were inspected. 3 Fire Extinguishers were found to be last charged on 07/20/21. There was a sufficient supply of both perishable and nonperishable foods as required by Title 22 Regulations. Food stored in the kitchen refrigerators were properly stored as per regulations on this day at the time of the visit. Toxins are stored and locked in cabinets under the kitchen sink and the office. Dangerous items were stored inaccessible to clients in the office and sharps are locked in a kitchen drawer. There was a supply of hygiene products and paper products available for clients. All client’s bedrooms have lighting & appropriate furnishings. Facility has an activities director 3 days a week.

Facility has submitted a mitigation program plan. Posters requesting masks have been placed at entrance, as well as a small table with hand sanitizer and screening questions, thermometer, and masks designated for visitors is placed at entrance. Staff are screened and temperatures taken prior to starting work. All information is logged.

There were no deficiencies. No citations given.
