The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marcela Yanez conducted an unannounced Required 1 Year visit and met with Prunella Cardozo, Administrator LPA announced the purpose of the visit. LPA observed 3 staff and Licensee and 5 residents in patio.

During visit, LPA toured the facility Main House and Laredo, Medication Room, basement (pantry) and kitchen and dining area. LPA observed freezer temperature with thermometer 40 Degrees F.

LPA with ADM toured resident bedrooms #1, #6, #8, #10, #11, #12, #13, #18, #17. Each bedroom had available bedding and clothing storage areas as well as functioning lights. LPA toured bedrooms #14 and #15 which are currently vacant.

LPA observed missing Blinds in rooms #3, #4 #5 and #17, and broken missing or in disrepair in bedroom #6 #8, #9 and #4 and #5 in the Laredo house. Main house room #5 had a 2 holes in the wall next to bed size about 1 foot long and 6 inches wide and 2 inches high and 1 inch wide.

The Facility has a pull fire alarm, carbon monoxide detector and a sprinkler system installed. LPA toured resident shared bathrooms. Each bathroom had available soap and paper towels and functioning lights. The water temperatures in the bathroom sinks measured with thermometer at 117-118 degrees F.
