The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst's (LPA's) Rankin and Jeffries conducted a 1 year Annual visit to the facility above. LPA's met with Alejandra Martinez-Arana, Sheryl Sterling, and Lori Lee, and explained the purpose of the visit.

LPA's took a physical plant tour of the facility with staff. The Adult Day Program (ADP) has a submitted mitigation plan, Emergency Disaster Plan, and Infection Control Plan to the department. The ADP has a central entry point for staff to sign in. The facility has 4 clients restrooms with plenty of soap, paper towels, toilet paper, hand washing signs, and changing areas.

Prescriptions medications were locked in a medication cart in the medication room. Staff provide medications to the clients and if unable to take by self the staff with Assist in self-administration of the medications with the hand over hand technique. Once ordered by the physician the medications are given according to the physician’s directions. The facility does not currently have any clients in care with oxygen. Staff ensures all clients with incontinence are kept clean and dry. Staff do evaluate clients to make sure skin breakdown is not occurring.

LPA's reviewed 6 staff files for current 1st Aid/CPR, Background Fingerprints and associated to work at the facility, Job Applications, Health Screening, Criminal Record Statement, Employee Rights, and TB results.

LPA Jeffries reviewed the same 6 staff and observed adequate amount of training required by regulation.
