The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Joseph Alejandre and Kevin Gaines made an unannounced visit to conduct the required annual inspection (mitigation). LPA was greeted and granted entry by staff. LPA explained the reason for the visit. LPA met with staff Brian Mahinay toured the facility. Administrator Marjan Arastoo arrived during the tour. The facility is a 2 story building with 40 rooms, a dining room, kitchen, medication room, office and a recreation room with a TV. LPA observed all fire extinguishers are fully charged. LPA did not observe any Covid-19 postings in the facility. The dining room is clean and will accommodate all of the clients. LPA observed the fireplace is screened. The kitchen is clean and LPA observed a 2 day perishable and a 7 day non-perishable food supply on hand in the kitchen. LPA observed the emergency water supply and emergency food supply stored in the kitchen. LPA observed there is one evacuation chair on the second floor placed between the 2 stairwells. LPA measured the hot water in 6 rooms and the hot water measured 112.4 to 115.7 degrees Fahrenheit. LPA observed the bathrooms in all 6 rooms were operational and clean. LPA observed the shared bathrooms with showers were clean and operational. LPA observed the laundry room is clean and organized. The laundry room is kept secured. LPA consulted with the Administrator concerning reporting requirements and continued Covid-19 mitigation procedures. No deficiencies are being cited as a result of this visit. An exit interview was conducted and a copy of the report provided.
