Complaint Investigation Report
Room 108 was measured at 78.8 degrees, TV room measured at 78.9 degrees, and dining room measured at 78.5 degrees. On the second floor near room 202 measured 79.3 degrees, near room 210 measured 79.1 degrees and room 220 measured at 78.9 degrees.
Interviews conducted with three staff members stated that two of three staff stated that no residents have expressed concerns with building temperatures. One of three staff stated that a few residents have mentioned about warmth of facility and stated that air conditioning automatically kicks on when reaches a certain temperature outside and that fans are available to residents upon request.
Interviews with clients states that nine of nine clients claim that temperatures inside rooms are comfortable. Six of nine clients stated that if temperatures get warm, Air conditioning automatically turns on and rooms are cool. All Clients interviewed stated that Air conditioning works well in facility.
Regarding the allegation Facility did not maintain a comfortable temperature for the residents based on client and staff interviews Air conditioning is operational in facility. Based on thermostat readings and LPA temperature measurements, temperatures ranged between 73.0- 79.5 degrees Fahrenheit, which is within California code of regulations.
Based on interviews and observations conducted, the allegation is found to be Unsubstantiated, meaning that although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur.
An exit interview was conducted with Administrator Arastoo and a copy of this report was provided to facility.
