The inspector’s account

At approximately 10:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Julie Florio arrived unannounced to conduct a required 1-year annual inspection. LPA contacted Noel Camatog, Administrator who arrived at the facility at approximately 10:30 AM.. Facility is an Adult Residential Facility (ARF) with six (6) clients in care. One (1) of whom is non-ambulatory. All clients were away at day programs or college courses during today's visit. Facility is vendored through Golden Gate Regional Center (GGRC).

At approximately 11:00 AM, LPA initiated a tour of the facility with Administrator and observed the following: Facility is a one story home, was a comfortable temperature, and passageways were free from obstructions. Water temperature in clients' bathrooms measured within the allowable range of 105 to 120 degrees F per Title 22 regulations. LPA observed a supply of clean linens and paper products available to clients. Clients' bedrooms were inspected. One (1) of three (3) client bedrooms was observed missing a second chest of drawers for the second client living in the room. Administrator agreed to get a dresser for the client immediately in order to ensure the facility is in compliance with regulation. All of the client bedrooms were observed to have all of the remaining appropriate furnishings as outlined in regulations. Cabinets containing cleaning supplies and other items that could pose a risk were locked. Facility has at least two days of perishable food and one week of non-perishable food. Medications were observed centrally stored and locked. There is outdoor space for activities in the front and rear yards. Facility conducts community outings for activities and to visit with the clients in their other homes in Greenbrae and Oakley, CA. Administrator states they take the clients out shopping and to dinner every Friday. Administrator states that all clients have their own ipad.

LPA was informed that facility has a designated internet access device available to clients in care.
