Complaint Investigation Report
It was alleged that staff do not treat resident with dignity and respect. It was reported that staff members sometimes tell lies to one another about the residents. Interviews conducted with staff revealed that relationships between staff and residents have been improving. Staff stated that although some residents do not always respond positively to redirection, they have never observed staff treating residents disrespectfully. Interviews with residents revealed no concerns regarding the way staff treat them. Residents stated that they get along well with staff and have not felt disrespected during their interactions. Furthermore, residents reported that they have not observed staff treating other residents disrespectfully and expressed no concerns about living at the facility. Based on the information provided through interviews with staff and residents, the Department has insufficient evidence to support the allegations of “staff do not treat resident with dignity and respect”. Therefore, this allegation is deemed Unsubstantiated at this time.
