C2 denies this allegation, stated they have never taken item’s from C1. LPA reviewed C1's Personal Property and Valuables form and did not see any personal items listed on the form. The items allegedly stolen are not listed on the personal property form. Six (6) out of six (6) staff interviewed deny the allegation. Ten (10) out of ten (10) residents interviewed could not corroborate the allegation. According to the staff, the clients have been all provided closets with a lock and key, provided by the facility, to safeguard residents’ belongings. According to the staff, C1 did not tell the facility staff of the items they bought and had stolen. The mattress and bedding is what C1 alleges that have been taken. On observation and interview with housekeeping there have been no mattress or bedding that has changed. The linen and mattress have not been changed or replaced according to the staff and administrator. Housekeeper does not know if any items were taken out of C1's room. Only the residents have keys to their room and closet. Staff keeps extra key for emergencies when staff needs to enter residents’ room to ensure their clients safety. Although the allegation(s) may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are unsubstantiated.
In regard to the allegation that "Staff are not treating clients with dignity and respect," it is alleged that C1 had gotten upset with S1, while C1 was bringing up concerns they had with S1, and that S1 had subsequently yelled at C1 when reported incidents were not being properly handled, and S1 did not take reported incidents more seriously. During interviews with the clients ten (10)) out of ten (10) did not corroborate the allegation. One of the clients interviewed stated that they believe S1 treat them and all other clients in the facility with dignity and respect. Another client interviewed stated that S1 is kind people and that they had never had any conflicts with them or any of the other staff in the facility. During interviews with the staff, six (6) out of Six (6)) did not corroborate the allegation. One of the staff interviewed stated S1 had never yelled at C1 during this incident, and they were telling C1 that they will address C1's concerns when they C1 became upset. Another staff interviewed stated that during the incident staff had to tell C1 that they were busy and would speak with them about the concerns they had later, however they had never yelled at C1 or treated them disrespectfully. Although the allegation(s) may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are unsubstantiated.
