The inspector’s account

At 9:30am, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Angela Panushkina and Perchui Milena Khurshudyan arrived at the facility to conduct an unannounced annual inspection. LPAs met with the Administrator and explained the reason for the visit.

A tour of the physical plant was initiated at 9:45am, and the following was observed:

The facility is approved for capacity of four (4) Ambulatory clients. Required postings were observed in the entry area. The facility maintains a comfortable temperature of 70°F. LPAs observed all common areas are furnished with adequate furniture to accommodate a maximum capacity of four (4) clients. There is a functioning telephone on the premises. Dual smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were located throughout the facility, and at 10:20am they were tested and observed to be operational.

The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave oven and sink. There were adequate supplies of perishable and nonperishable food and dining ware to accommodate a maximum capacity of four (4) clients. Sharp knives/objects are kept in the kitchen cabinet and observed to be locked and inaccessible to clients in care. Fire extinguisher is located near the kitchen and last serviced on 06/09/2025. Medications are kept in the kitchen cabinet and observed to be locked. The first-aid kit has been inspected which has at least the following: tweezers, scissors, antiseptic, bandages, gauze, thermometer; including a current First Aid manual. There are four (4) bedrooms designated for clients’ use. All bedrooms are furnished with beds, dressers and required bedding and linen. The bedrooms have sufficient closet space. LPAs were informed that the facility has awake staff at night. The facility has two (2) bathrooms. Bathrooms were properly supplied and had functional fixtures. Bathrooms have soap and paper towels.
