The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Blanca Gonzalez conducted an unannounced required annual inspection. LPA met with Co-Administrator Kevin Garbanzos and explained the purpose of the visit.

The facility is licensed to serve 4 non-ambulatory developmentally disabled clients aged 18 to 59. Currently, there are two (2) clients in placement. All clients residing at this facility receive case management services provided by San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center.

The facility is a single-story family home located in a residential area of Glendora. The home consists of a living room, dining area, kitchen, client bedrooms, staff room, two (2) bathrooms, laundry area, front yard, backyard, shed, and detached garage.

LPAs utilized the Compliance and Regulatory Enforcement (CARE) Tools and observed the following:

Client bedrooms contained the required furniture and bedding, all in good repair. Extra, clean linens and towels observed in bedroom closet. Carbon monoxide detector is located in the kitchen, was tested and is operable. Smoke detectors were observed in each room and throughout facility, were tested and are operable. The facility has one (1) fire extinguisher which is kept in laundry area. Cleaning supplies and toxic substances are inaccessible locked in cupboards in laundry area.
