The inspector’s account

Licensing Program Analyst Tuesday Cabiness conducted an unannounced annual inspection LPA met with Leilani Capistrano and explained the reason of the visit. The Administrator was contacted and informed of the visit. The current census is (4) and during the visit there was one client present and the remainder were in program.

A complete tour of the physical plant was conducted. The following areas were inspected: common areas, kitchen, dining and living room. It also included client rooms and bathroom; as well as the surrounding areas. The facility has four (4) bedrooms and three (3) bathrooms currently occupying clients. One room is shared and two rooms are private. One room is empty and used as storage and office.

Living and dining room furniture were also checked. The living room is neat and clean. The facility maintains a comfortable temperature. The smoke detectors are observed to be operational. There is a carbon monoxide detector in the facility. Fire extinguishers are located in the kitchen and hallway.

The backyard of the facility has outdoor furniture with a covered shaded area for clients. There is also a garage with extra food and laundry room area with chemicals, that was locked and secured. There are (2) exit gates, which were accessible and open.

Food Service/Kitchen area was sufficiently stocked with two (2) days of perishable and seven (7) days of non-perishable food. Knives and sharp objects were observed to be locked and inaccessible to clients. Client rooms are adequately furnished with appropriate furniture and lighting.
